Module 10
Cleaning and Stripping Runs
Clean your still, then strip your wash into low wines so finishing-run cuts are easier and repeatable.
Start by cleaning a new still with a water + vinegar run to remove residues. Then run a fast stripping run to concentrate alcohol into low wines and record the baseline data you need for recipe development.
What you'll learn
- How to clean a new still before your first product run
- How to run a stripping run for concentration (not precision cuts)
- What baseline data to record for recipe development
- Why finishing-run fractioning is easier after stripping
- Where these runs fit in the broader distilling workflow
