How energy is traditionally managed in distilleries

Energy management usually takes a low priority in traditional still design. Copper is very conductive, so energy - put into the distilling machine to help bring that beer or wine to a boil - mostly heats up the distillery instead of the still.

In traditional stills up to 75% of energy goes to waste. This significantly raises production costs, resulting in a less future-proof and less environmentally responsible business case. Less profit, lower survivability rates during a depression.
