iStill iParrot?

Introduction

So, we are working on something new. A parrot. Not just any parrot, but an amazing new innovation that will bring your distilling experience to a new level. Let's dive into what a parrot traditionally is, what the iParrot will be, and how that is going to bring an amazing advancement to the way in which you can run your distillery.

Traditional parrot

Traditionally, a parrot holds a hydrometer in place and has the spirit that is being produced pas through it. As the alcohol passes through the parrot, the hydrometer reads the alcohol percentage, giving the distiller an indication of the strength of the drink that he is producing.

As it stands, the parrot is a crude measuring device. It bobs and weaves. It is difficult to take an exact reading. That reading is strongly influenced by temperature of the liquid as well as its flow rate. And the parrot does not inform the distiller on that flow rate. Just the alcohol percentage. Or an indication thereof.

iStill Parrot

The iStill Parrot, that we are currently designing and testing, is digital. The iStill Parrot digitally measures the exact alcohol percentage of the spirit you are producing. It also digitally measures throughput. It takes temperature into consideration.

Long story short? The iStill Parrot perfectly informs you on ABV, yield, and ABV of that yield! It doesn't do indications, it does science. Not science fiction, but science fact!

The amazing advantage the iStill Parrot offers

Even though the iStill Parrot offers an exact measurement of the ABV of the spirit that you are producing, and that is amazing in itself, there is more. Even though the iStill parrot offers an exact measurement of your yield - and the ABV of that yield - which are amazing additions on themselves ... there is more. And no, even though the iStill Parrot deals with outside influencers and disturbers, and yes that is amazing as well, there is something much more advantageous. So here we go:

In combination with data logging, the iStill Parrot can be used as direct input into your alcohol taxation and administration system. There you have it: the iStill Parrot integrates production with administration. And that is a game changer. Just imagine ... your still will tell your book keeping software how much alcohol you produced, and whether it needs to be assigned as heads, hearts, or tails!

Introduction and pricing

The (extended) data logging for the iStill Parrot costs EUR 1.500,- per year. The costs of your VPN (EUR 500,-) and your base data logging functionality (another EUR 500,-) are included in this price. We do not know the actual price of the iParrot yet, but expect it to be between EUR 5.000,- and EUR 10.000,- as a one time purchase costs for the flow- and ABV-meter, as well as the PLC integration.
