How the iStill deals with power outages

What happens if you run your iStill and you face a power outage? The iStill will pauze the program it runs. Why is that a good thing? Well, it means that the data are saved and your run isn't lost. All you have to do, is - when the power comes back on - push "Start" and the iStill continues where it left off.

Great solution? Yes, a great solution indeed. Unless your distillery is situated in the Ukraine and you like to do your runs automatically and during night times. When no one is around, who is there to push that start button and continue the distillation process? That's where the all-new iStill Uninterruptible Power Supply comes in ...

iStill UPS

To allow the iStill to resume its run automatically, when the power comes back on, without anyone having to be present to push "Start", we designed the iStill Uninterruptible Power Supply. Let's call it the iStill UPS for short.

The iStill UPS consists of a battery and a computer, that are connected to the iStill PLC (the industrial computer at the back of your iStill). The iStill UPS automatically restarts the iStill once the power is back on, and makes sure that all the valves for cooling and collection are kept open and are ready for action.

Status & Price

We have successfully tested the iStill UPS and are currently in the packaging phase of the project. "Where and how will we house the battery and computer?" and "How do we connect the iStill UPS to the iStill PLC?" are the important questions that we are currently addressing and answering.

The first iStill UPC will be shipped to our Ukrainian customer in a few weeks time. You can order one as well as of right now. Expect a two month delivery time. Price, including crating and transport, is EUR 3.000,-. Please be informed that the iStill UPS works on the iStill 100, 200, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, and 5000. All of the fully automated production-oriented iStills benefit from this new innovation!
