Who is Ian Mansell?

Ian Mansell is the Operations Director of @Sloemotion Distillery.

Ian and co-founder of SloeMotion Joff Curtoys will talk about sustainability in the craft distilling industry.

Minimizing their impact on the planet is not a marketing fad for SloeMotion. It's been at the heart of every decision made since the start of the business, now 20 years ago.

Founded in 2002, Sloemotion Distillery is an artisan business creating great tasting spirits and liqueurs. They are based at Green Farm, in the village of Barton-le-Willows, just north of York and near to the market town of Malton, Yorkshire’s food capital.

The business began almost by accident, when a farming initiative to improve wildlife habitats resulted in an abundance of sloes. To Joff Curtoys, an ecologist by training, who had grown up drinking his father’s home-made Sloe Gin, an idea began to take shape and SloeMotion was born ...

What is CDS23?

CDS23 stands for Craft Distillers Seminar 2023. It is a new initiative that aims to educate and connect craft distillers. Instead of selling them a bunch of consultancy. CDS23 takes place in the Netherlands and offers 2 days packed with learning and networking opportunities, and is limited to 100 participants.
